Gold Country

The search for and the discovery of gold in the western lands helped a new nation to grow and prosper. Gold spurred exploration, development and settlement to many western states. Those first prospectors saw a wild, rugged and untamed land full of beauty and danger. Gold created a danger of its own as men and women fought to possess it.  Today the old adage ‘thar’s gold ‘n them thar hills’ holds true even if it is the fall colors or the golden glow of a sunset. We encourage you to get out and prospect a little yourself.
