James signs each piece along with his tribal affiliation Dine or Dineh meaning "The People". James has done a variety of traditional Navajo etched pottery designs along with the more recent innovation of Two-Tone etching. The contemporary geometric patterns draw on several traditional designs including feather, steps, rain and a variety of spiral shapes.
